Description
From the organizer:
After two years of interruption, the University on Youth and Development (UYD) will resume from 11 to 18 September 2022 in Mollina (Spain).
The UYD is an international youth event organised by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, where a number of youth-led and youth-oriented organisations have the possibility to run their own activities (trainings, seminars, board meetings, etc.) within a dynamic and participatory context which encourages networking, cooperation and peer-to-peer education.
Since 2000 the UYD represents an international hub for meetings, youth advocacy and exchange of good practices. It gathers, for one week, hundreds of young people, youth workers, decision makers, experts from the field and institutional representatives, providing them all with a space to meet, debate, build their capacities and cooperate on youth policy issues.
This year the annual theme is “Building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions”, as one the three pillars of the Sustainable Development Goal 16: “Peace, justice and strong institutions”.
The annual theme is the thread that connects all the activities taking place in the framework of the Universities and it will be explored during the plenary sessions engaging all the participants of the event.
Youth organisations and any other youth-related institutions can apply to join the UYD and organise an activity within the framework of the event. Each organisation is responsible for funding and managing its own activity.
The organisations selected to run their activity within the 21st edition of the UYD will join the partnership and collaborate with many other organisations for the success of the event and for the growth of the youth sector.
