Description
The long-term construction expansion is "eating" the public space in Skopje and irreversibly changing its face. Green areas are sacrificed for housing complexes, and multi-storey garages and shopping malls suffocate cultural heritage.
Fortunately, the city hides many forgotten places that have the potential to grow into new urban oases. These are the abandoned buildings of the last century – former cult urns, administrative and industrial centers – that could receive new functions and adapt to modern times, without losing their former charm.
One proposal for such modernization of abandoned buildings - and institutions - is the youth hybrid centers, an initiative of "Cultural Echo" and "Startup Macedonia", which was adopted by the Government this year. This panel discussion is an opportunity to get to know our initiative and exchange opinions with youth, cultural, and business representatives.
